Hi Toni. I have no overseas travel planned for 2015 - I'm making my writing projects top priority this year. Publishers don't pay for international travel or arrange author tours except for best-selling or celebrity writers, so anything I do is at my own expense - from Australia, quite considerable. That means I will only get over to the US of there is a specific event I am invited to attend, eg the World Fantasy Convention or similar, and I would have to limit my visits to the location of that event or nearby. I do hope I may be able to be there some time in 2016, which would coincide with the release of the third Blackthorn & Grim book.

In the research and construction of your books, why kind of role does historical or technical research play, and how flexibly do you incorporate or interpret it for the purpose of the story? Your books have such detail and sense of place to feel believable and present, and still the fantasy aspects fit so seamlessly in with reality.
