I want to start reading about the WWII and this was recommended as one of the first books I should read. Can someone tell me if this is where I should start? Any other recommendations are welcome as well. Thank you!

It isn't the most comprehensive on the subject, (not to say it doesn't cover a lot of ground- it certainly does!) but Shirer wasn't writing sixty years after the event.
