You mentioned previously that you feel that Jane and Vincent's story is done, do you feel that fatigue for their story specifically or the Regency setting in general? That is, in upcoming novels from you, can we expect to see a return to a Regency setting or are you wanting to get away from that for a while and explore other settings?

Oddly, I don't think their story is finished, in the same way that no one's story is really finished. What I DO think is that if I wrote a novel 6 right away, that Jane and Vincent would be walking bundles of PTSD and it would be nothing but "Jane and Vincent huddled in the closet."
So, what I think is that they need a break and my readers need a break so that everyone can reset. I'd like to come back to this world, and the Vincent family, in a couple of years.
Meanwhile... I'm off to explore WWI.

I notice when I'm reading your Glamourist series that you manage to make what feels like a casual stroll through this world with Jane and Vincent (at least until the main conflict erupts) incredibly compelling. It's both relaxing and urgently demanding I get to the next page. So... How do you do that? Is it intentional?

Thank you so much for writing “The Calculating Stars”, I absolutely enjoyed every single speck of this book. I cannot convey to you how absolutely perfect this book is to my science, space-y, fantasy genre, NASA loving, nerdy self , who as a kid wanted to be an astronaut. About 39 years later and I’m living vicariously through this one! IT’S SO F@#$&* GOOD!?
