How do you get inspired to write?

Michael Tefft I don't necessarily get "inspired to write" - I approach my writing time as this is when I write and that's what I do. It's no different than exercising; if you wait until you're inspired to exercise, it will rarely happen. So I adopt a "time to make the donuts" mentality except it's more like "time to pound the keyboard".

As for inspiration about what to write, that usually comes on my nearly hour long commute to work or in the shower.
