4.22 stars out of 5 stars before it is even published. Why not 5 stars? What was so wrong with this book it does not merit perfect marks from everyone? A few typos? Poor character development? A plot or subplot hole? Are people so angry with this author that they will deny him 5 stars without even reading his work?

The actual rating would be disabled until the moment the book is published and the "hype meter" or whatever is the score that people expect of the book before its published. I really don't like when things have a rating before people even see them. As for your sentiment that the author is being "denied a 5 star rating before even seeing his work" i think instead there shoudn't be a rating before people see it at all. I hope this wasn't too rambly...(less)
