I read Prince of Fools first and loved it so much that I found my way back to the Broken Empire series and have just finished book two. Is there a series before this one in which you describe more about what happened to the world and how it got how we see it in these books? I know there are little details here and there in the books but just curious...

No, Prince of Thorns was my first published book and there are no others concerning the Broken Empire.
