What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Leslie Tall Manning This is a tough question. It's like asking what is the best thing about being a parent? I absolutely LOVE telling stories, whether they are mine or other writers'. I always have. If a teacher wanted someone to read to the class, my hand shot into the air. If I get asked to read at a conference, or any kind of event, the bigger the crowd the better. I suppose actually seeing how people react to a piece of writing is my greatest thrill as a writer. Writing is the hard part. Sharing that writing is the icing on the cake!
