A Goodreads user asked D.J. MacHale:

I can't remember if this was ever answered but in The Rivers of Zaada (i think) Saint Dane stabs Loor (its been some time since i've read it) and she does not die. It seems every traveler does not die when another traveler directly hurts them but they die when something indirectly kills them like the poison with Spaders father. My question is can travelers not kill other travelers?

D.J. MacHale Hmmm...well, without giving away spoilers that somebody might stumble on, once you read The Soldiers of Halla (The first 70 pages to be precise) and the full mythology is revealed, that answer should be apparent. I'm trying not to be any more specific than that.
