Goodreads asked Aeyess:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Aeyess A close friend told me I have the weirdest writer's block ever. If I get frustrated with a book I'm writing, I start writing obscure and outlandish short stories completely off topic. In these stories, I'm not limited by anything that's come before or any predetermined destination. The freedom to freestyle helps break down any walls I've built around myself. Once I'm broken free from the restraints, my frustrations ease and I can get back into the book I really should be writing. The writer's block part is that I sometimes get so involved in the short stories that over a weekend I might write three in a series. I have to force myself stop.
