Goodreads asked Stacy Bennett:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Stacy Bennett I don't really use that term when I'm "not writing." If I can't sit down and just write, there could be many causes. Perhaps I have too much "mom" or "employee" stuff that is waiting to be finished and an hour of clearing my plate works wonders. Sometimes it's because the scene I'm writing isn't quite ready yet. Maybe it needs percolating, maybe something isn't gelling quite right. I re-read what came before in the story to get in the mindset but if that doesn't work, I'll hook the leash on my dog and hit the nearby forest trails. Usually plot-kinks are easier to unravel when I'm not at my desk. Some days though, the only way to work is just to slog realizing that tomorrow you will probably need to redo what you've done today. It's all good though, for me writing isn't usually a straight progression and I don't let it get to me when it's being stubborn.
