Goodreads asked James L. Weaver:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

James L. Weaver For me, blocks come when I hit a snag in my plot. I've painted myself in a corner and am not sure how to resolve it. I take a day or two off and let my mind mull over the snag. If that doesn't work, I just write even if what I write isn't very good as I can always delete it later. I typically find a gem in the rough text that I want to keep. Sooner or later, the plot knot unravels and I can move forward.
