It was the darkest of times in the United States. In the wake of Concussiongate, football was outlawed.

Though more of a Star Wars than a Star Trek kind of guy, I'd have to go to the Star Trek world. No money needed, you can transport to any destination you want and you can slip a card into a machine and you have instant food!

Thanks for the question, Jon and sorry for the delay in responding!
The next book will be titled Blackbird Road. The book has been completed and gone through the copy edit process. It's with the publisher doing a final review and we're going through the cover design process. I'd anticipate a May/June release date.
And, since you asked about the third book in the series, please know that I'm about a third of the way completed with book four which will be called Asylum Road. We're looking at a 2018 release date for it as well!

I plan to spend the summer writing and will try to squeeze in a book to read here and there. Next on the list is The Quiet Game by Greg Iles that came recommended from a friend and Stuffed: Adeventures of a Restaurant Family that was recommended from another. If I get past those, I'll continue to work my way down my ever growing Goodreads "To Read" list.

Writing it now. Might be by year end or early 2018. Glad you liked it. Please post a review if you would be so inclined here and on Goodreads!
By the way, there's a prequel to Ares Road called Poor Boy Road that is also available on Amazon if you want to learn about Jake's backstory that was referenced in Ares Road.

Joseph - So sorry I'm late in responding! The email with the winners list went to my spam folder for some reason, but I sent copies of Ares Road out a couple of weeks ago to winners in Bridgeview, IL, Oldsmar, FL and De Valls Bluff, AR. Was one of these you and did you receive it? Again, I apologize for the delay.

I'm working on getting representation for my novel Poor Boy Road set in the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. I'm also nearing completion of the stand alone sequel featuring the same character. Both are completely different from Jack & Diane, but I love the way they are turning out. Stay tuned!

Don't be afraid to send what you write to people for feedback. Pick someone who will tell you the truth. The worst beta reader is someone who just says "I liked it" or "It's good". That is not helpful. A good beta reader will not just point out the good, but also tell you "This part sucked".

Having someone tell you what you wrote connected with them, that you moved them emotionally.

For me, blocks come when I hit a snag in my plot. I've painted myself in a corner and am not sure how to resolve it. I take a day or two off and let my mind mull over the snag. If that doesn't work, I just write even if what I write isn't very good as I can always delete it later. I typically find a gem in the rough text that I want to keep. Sooner or later, the plot knot unravels and I can move forward.
