Erik Larson I only choose subjects where I know I'll be able to find a lot of great, original archival materials, so that's never really a problem. As to Devil: Yours is the perfect reaction. I figured the narrative about the killer would be the thing that lured people into the book, but hoped that the story they'd most like was the building of the fair.
