Kyle Mr. Larson: I was the opposite: the fair aspect was what drew me to the book. The portions about Burnham, Olmsted, Ferris, etc. were the most fascinating to me. I tend to prefer to read about inventors and innovators - that human spark. Beginning with my mom's stories about my great grandmother's attendance of the the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904, watching a fabulous PBS documentary about that - "The World's Greatest Fair", reading "Devil", and Jill Jonne's "Eiffel's Tower" - I have been hooked to turn of the century world's fair history ever since. Thank you for being an inspiration for my rekindled love of history, sir!
