Do you have to read the entire series in order, or are they good stand alones? I'm kind of hesitant to start such a long series!

M.L. Sparrow In my opinion, the first few books could act as stand-alones though you won't get the full effect, however, the story line gets more complex as it goes on so you probably should read them all in order. I absolutely love this series and would definitely recommend it!
Go DeArt I am a series reader. You really want to begin at the beginning because each book builds on the previous book. I have finished all of Nalini's Guild Hunters series and love, loved, in-love with her writing style. I just finished SLAVE TO SENSATION and almost done with VISIONS OF HEAT. Nalini does not disappoint and delivers a great read every time I purchase her work for reading enjoyment. Characters are well developed and your mind is challenged as well as entertained. Get it while it's hot, Psy/changeling are hot! -g
Maria I agree with the others that reading the books in order is recommended. If you're hesitant about committing I'd say read the first book, as it explains the world best in my opinion, and then pick up some of the novellas.

I like all the novellas, and most are easily read as stand alones. Examples; Whisper of Sin, Beat of Temptation, Declaration of Courtship, Stroke of Enticement, Echo of Silence and Partners in Persuasion.

There are two novella compilations; Wild Invitation and Wild Embrace. The only novella (not 'slice-of-life' stories) I truly wouldn't recommend as a stand alone is Dorian.
Stephanie You really should start from the beginning. Each book builds on the ones before, so you'll miss a lot of the finer points (and have no idea who characters are) if you don't read them in order. It's a wonderful series, give it a try!
