Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Matthew Milam II It is often said that the Lord works in Mysterious ways. Although you won't find that exact wording anywhere in the Bible, it's still a valid point.

I believe my book, "The Jesus Command" was Spirit led from the start. The idea developed over time as a result of my weekly Bible Study. The topics which I had selected were hindered due to mixed ideas and previous understandings of my attendees. These problems mostly arose from the diversity of their backgrounds and the variety of teachings they had been exposed to. Different denominations have different viewpoints and the doctrine can easily get lost in debate and confusion. Out of necessity I had to find a common ground from which to build. The thing that kept coming to mind was this.

As it relates to "Discipleship", how did Jesus use the term, and... what did He intend for us to understand about it?

No matter what we've been taught, or what we'd like to believe, the only thing that matters is a clear understanding of what Christ wanted from us in obedience. With that understand and the effort to find the answer... the book was born.
