I have read almost all of your books except Naked Consumer. I heard you speak in Philadelphia last week; I am STILL going to read this book. Have you ever considered changing the formula of your novels (historical event plus infamous character) to give yourself a different style of writing?
Erik Larson
Every book is different, and requires a different approach, if not a different style of writing. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Mr. Larsen, I became an instant fan after _Devil_In_The_White_City_, and have read several of your other works. I have noticed that real historical events don't always cooperate by fitting into a novel-like plot. How much effort do you spend looking for just the right set of characters in a situation, so the story can to build to a satisfying finish?
