Goodreads asked Tawnee Calhoun:

How do you get inspired to write?

Tawnee Calhoun Sometimes an idea just won't stop tickling my brain. It's like an itch I can't scratch unless I sit down and write. Most of the time my stories start out as daydreams. I'll envision something in my mind before deciding, "Wow, that sounds like a good idea for a story. I should write that down before I lose it." Many ideas come to me when my mind is occupied with something else, while I'm in the shower, or while I'm dreaming. I really should start writing ideas down as soon as I wake up, but I'm usually still too groggy from sleep. I'm sure I've lost many more good ideas from sleep than I've ever remembered to put down on paper.
