Goodreads asked Tawnee Calhoun:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Tawnee Calhoun "A Thief's Honor" was influenced heavily by the fantasy authors I read as a child and teenager, namely David Eddings and Robert Jordan. This novel was written somewhat as a tribute to these late, great writers and the wonderful stories they were able to share with the world. I'm nowhere near on their level, but this book was basically my way of tipping my hat and saying thank you for all that you have done for me. I wouldn't be the writer I am now without these pillars of the fantasy tradition that are Eddings and Jordan.
