I like how you keep your calendar--different colored stars for the numbers of hours you've worked on different things. Observing the number of stars there were for research, I wondered: What sort of research did you do for the KOTLC series?

Well, those stars are actually for both research AND brainstorming. So a lot of them represented time I spent doing world building stuff, like figuring out what new locations look like, designing new outfits for them to wear, new creatures, coming up with names for things (which always takes forever) etc. But there is also some research involved. I can't tell you about anything I researched for NEVERSEEN, but in the past I've researched things like: eurypterids, Mount Everest, types of dinosaurs, extinct animals, myths about Atlantis and Shangri-la, etc.

I think that if you teamed up with Rick Riordan the book would be so awesome that the human race wouldn't be able to handle it.(but maybe the elves would!:) That out of the way, where in the worlds are the elf cities? Its never mentioned in the books, except the Sanctuary.
