Hello! Can this story be read as a stand-alone or do I need to read Prosperity first? Thanks a lot for your answer! PS: It's not that I don't want to read Prosperity, but as a non-native speaker, the vernacular has made it super hard to follow. I'll probably picked it up again soon. Especially now that I don't have a pregnancy brain anymore and that I fell in love with every single other book you've written.

One of my major characters is gay, but it has never been brought up on account of me (mostly) writing non-romantic stuff, and the plot as such being focused on other matters. Would it be better to have his sexuality firmly established in text just to open a new perspective of the character to the reader, or do you think I should wait until it's actually relevant to the plot - even if it may never be?
