You have amazingly complex characters and you have said that you reinvent characters because they didnt work out. What aspects of a character do you determine first when writing?

Gena Showalter It can be different every time :) All I need is the grain of an idea or character to get me excited, then boom, I play connect the dots (asking myself why and how) and the story/characters grow from there!
