I was privileged to attend one of your tour dates for "Devil in the White City" (a personal favorite) and found you eloquent, engaging and pretty darn funny. My question is: Do you enjoy speaking publicly and the physical interaction with fans? Not all writers are great speakers and much preparation goes into speaking to, as well as entertaining, a live audience. P.S. You rock!

Erik Larson I rock? Ha. Thank you. Please tell that to my daughters. As to your question: Yes, I enjoy speaking--once I'm up at the podium. It's the half hour before that causes me significant anxiety. Nothing a glass of white wine can't cure, however.
