Goodreads asked Caroline Mitchell:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Caroline Mitchell I don't understand what writer's block is, as I've never experienced it. My first book was non fiction so my only problem was trying to work out what parts of our three year experience to include in the book and what to leave out. I also had to work with my husband and other witnesses on their paranormal experiences and do them justice. With fiction I have no such problems as my head is buzzing with ideas for my heroine, DC Jennifer Knight. She is in my head all the time as I dream up various scenarios for her. My main advice would be to take Ernest Hemmingway's advice 'The first draft of anything is shit'. Just write and you can go back and fix it later. It also helps if you can work to your strengths, and write what you know.
