“Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights is one of my favourite books. I'd love to wander as a bystander on the Yorkshire Moors and watch this fictional tale come to life.”

Hi Stephanie
Thanks so much for having my books on your list. They can be read as standalones, but I do recommend starting with Truth And Lies as it gives you the full impact of DI Amy Winter's background. :-)

Thanks Sue,
I enjoy writing both stand alone psych thrillers as well as police series. I find the stand alones are like a refresher in between, if that makes sense. Then it's nice to get back to a series and catch up with the characters. My favourite genre to write is the book which is due out on October, called The Midnight Man. You can find out all about that on my blog www.caroline-writes.com
It's all very exciting as I've signed with a new publisher, Embla, which is part of Bonnier Books. Thanks for supporting my work.

Thanks Karen, it's so nice of you to take the time to tell me you're enjoying my books, you have made my day! I'm currently listening to Stephen King's 'Needful things' on Audible and he's narrating it. It has the perfect balance of darkness and humour, I highly recommend it if you ever fancy trying an audio book. His narration is so captivating.
Have a great new year!

Hi Laura
Great to hear from you. I'm so pleased you're enjoying Amy Winter. Yes, there are lots more books planned in the series, and the next book is already up for pre order now. It's called Left For Dead and is on Amazon, launching in July. We expect to have the cover and blurb up there real soon and I'm very excited about it. I'm currently editing number 4 in the series, Flesh And Blood, which is most likely due for release next year. My social media links are below if you'd like to be kept updated on special offers and new releases.
All the best,
Caroline

Hi Andrea
Great to hear from you, and thanks for that five star review! Imagination is like a muscle, the more you use it, the stronger it grows. I have so many ideas now, it's a case of picking the one that I think my readers will like best. I have dealt with many varied and interesting people in my former career in the police which inspire me too. I hope you enjoy The Secret Child, it's out 7th March. All the best.

(view spoiler)[If she was underage would that not be considered rape? (hide spoiler)]

This answer contains spoilers…
(view spoiler)[Hi, she wasn't underage though. In the UK, sixteen is the legal age of consent. (hide spoiler)]
This question contains spoilers...
(view spoiler)[why would you have Emma be raped again by H and make it seem acceptable? (hide spoiler)]
Caroline Mitchell
This answer contains spoilers…
(view spoiler)[Hi Jodell, thanks for your question but there were no rape scenes in the book. I hate to post spoilers for readers but in response to your question, the character was sixteen the first time she consented to sex and the second time she also consented for reasons of her own. Having worked as a police detective for several years dealing with rape offences it is not a subject I tackle lightly or would ever deem acceptable, and had there been rape scenes in the book it would have been clarified at the time. Melissa's breath caught in her throat, making her lungs burn. An intake of breath was out of the question - she could smell him drawing near, his bloodied axe dragging across the floor.

Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine. I'm absolutely loving this book so far.

I'm afraid I don't know, perhaps you could request it?
Caroline Mitchell
I've already covered that one. Paranormal Intruder is my true story of my encounters with the paranormal while working as a servicing police officer in the UK. I was compelled to write this book as such a story could not pass without being documented. Although uncomfortable to write, I hope it provides others with comfort who may find themselves going through the same thing.

Hi, lovely to hear from you. I'm thrilled you enjoyed both books and thanks for getting in touch. I'd love a review, they're like gold dust as less than 1% of readers review books. Thanks for taking the time to do so. My newsletter link is below if you haven't joined already :-)

Hi Julie
I'm so pleased you enjoyed The Silent Twin. Out of all the books in my Jennifer Knight series, it was the most popular. Right now I'm focusing on my crime series featuring Ruby Preston, as well as my psychological thrillers as they appeal to a wider audience. However I would love to return to Jennifer one day. Please sign up to my newsletter below to be notified in the event that I do. :-)

Thanks Peter, I'm glad you enjoyed the book. Yes, I agree, when this entity wasn't frightening us, it toyed with us. Sometimes even reeled us in, into believing we would get answers. I don't think we ever will, at least not in this lifetime. We hope to move house one day and I often wonder if our uninvited guest will be taking up residence with us. Thanks for getting in touch.
