Don't go into it lightly. It takes hard work and dedication. It can be done. If you choose to self publish, then have your book cover designed, your manuscript proof read and edited, and don't forget the formatting. You can outsource all these and I have links on my blog. Yes it is expensive, but don't even think about uploading your book to Amazon until it's the best it can be. You owe it to all the work you have committed to your story, and you owe it to your readers.
