I'm just curious outside of reading and bike riding what are the hobbies you enjoy exploring?
Michael J. Sullivan
Hey, thanks for asking. Writing is truly the "past time" that I enjoy the most - I wish everyone was in a position to have their "job" be the thing the thing they like to do the most.
My activities vary depending on the season/weather. In the Fall and Winter I'm pretty much "cocooning" inside. That's when I get the bulk of my writing done - and it pretty much follows a "school schedule" - in the fall I get anxious to be at my desk, and as spring approaches I want to get outdoors more.
When the weather gets warmer I like being outdoors...jogging or just taking long walks. I also paint as doing so outside is better than inside as I use oils that can produce a bit of a smell if done indoors. I also like getting back "into shape" after a long winter's hibernation so I'll spend a lot of my afternoon exercising etc.
In the "old days" I used to enjoy traveling but as I'm getting older I tend to prefer spending time at are around home. We bought some land recently and I do like "working it" - planting things (gardens and trees) building things (like stone walls and patios). My "main house" has no land to speak of so having a place where I can do that is something I'm really looking forward to.
The new land is in the mountains and so it will provide with a lot of hiking opportunities and also along the Shendoah River so we'll be able to break out kayaks which have been idle for several years.
I'm also a big "gamer" but it's hard right now because a lot of the games I'm looking forward to haven't yet been released. I play them in "beta" (or even alpha) but it's not the same - especially when all you've done is "wiped out" when a new patch comes in.
That's pretty much it. Writing, reading, and biking does take up the majority of my time, but those other activities are what I spend time on when not doing those.

Hi Michael, I want to buy your Riyria books with the original covers that I believe your designed. I don't really like the covers of the omnibus books. But the original ones are basically impossible to find. Will the publisher/printer be printing more copies of them at some point? I guess you may not know but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Thanks, Barbara

When is the audiobook for Rhune coming out? Surely there will be an audiobook?? Audible doesn't have any mention of Rhune, it's not possible to pre-order it. That must mean that it's not even being currently recorded. How long will it take? I don't want to be the last on the planet to experience Rhune, after everybody else has read it and talked about it for ages.
