George Garrigues asked Michael J. Sullivan:

Do you read nonfiction, hard-cover books? Any recently? Old stuff ever? What were your favorite classes in school? Thanks.

Michael J. Sullivan I read all kinds of things...and quite a bit of it is nonfiction. In fact, one of my favorite authors is non-fiction (Bill Bryson -- everything that man has written is well worth a read). I also read a lot of non-fiction for research purposes...and I'm a bit of a history buff.

As for formats...I read them all! I have quite an extensive hardcover collection, although there are many books I have only in ebook form...which I like because I can adjust the font, which means I don't have to have my reading glasses on.

My most recent non-fiction is the one I'm reading now - It's called "The Big Year" and it's about a birding competition. There was a pretty good movie made from it, but I doubt many people saw it.

In school I enjoyed history, astronomy, and of course, creative writing. I also took quite a few art courses, and I was good enough in that to get a scholarship to the Center for Creative Arts - which is a pretty prestigious art school in Detroit Michigan. I ended up dropping out...but I still do art to this day. I'm working on an oil painting right now.
