Sarah asked Kristen Ashley:

Hey Kristen! How do you decide how much sex or sex description you put in each book. You have Knight and Tate who are both lion kings of the jungle on the sex scale compared to others. I was curious if you base it off the characters or just how you are feeling with that book? I am always pleasantly surprised which males you make kinkier or dirty talkers than others (Apollo was one for sure!). LOVE IT! ; )

Kristen Ashley In most cases, they tell me. I go with their flow and sometimes I'm quite surprised. The biggest surprise I think was Mike from GAMES OF THE HEART being a wee bit dirty :-) (okay, more than a wee bit). I'm finding some deliciousness while writing Merry's story right now that's kind of thrown me for a loop (in a good way).

That said, The Unfinished Heroes and the Fantasyland series, they explore sexuality (UH) or have characters with less inhibitions due to their circumstances (being in a fantasy universe in Fantasyland) so they were just freer with sex and pushed boundaries. Again, this was dictated by the characters and how they came to me so it became a theme of the series with UH being the series where I allowed MYSELF to break down some boundaries and explore with my characters.

I hope that makes sense! But, like for you, it's also a pleasant surprise for me!
