The Original Heartbreakers series (and The Closer You Come in particular) came about because I wanted to write about sexy bad boys with traumatic pasts who have the same brotherly bond found in my Lords of the Underworld series -- and yet, I wanted these men to be ones I could truly meet. I wanted to write sassy Southern belles (kinda like the girls in my life) and a quirky small town I wished I lived. I wanted dark and gritty but also sexy and witty. I wanted my cake and I wanted to eat it too LOL
