Being a history "nerd," I am a big fan of the astounding cast of characters, culture and decadence of Berlin during the 1920's and 30's.
Looking at contemporary America, I see neither the astounding cast of characters nor the stunning culture of literature, theater, poetry, cinema or music that came of out the Weimar Republic. Instead, I see an unread, boobtube culture best expressed by the banality of its reality show heros.
What better character to poke fun at contemporary American decadence than a flamboyant, ladyboy poker player who ends up with her own, ratings-busting reality show?

Hey, David! How you doing? Sometimes it happens. We assume we are friends but it's ok. Now we are friends! I always look for illustrations to post here on GR (something I keep doing since I was on tumblr). To be honest, I don't know who made that illustration. And the title was invented by me!.
