Hey, David! How you doing? Sometimes it happens. We assume we are friends but it's ok. Now we are friends! I always look for illustrations to post here on GR (something I keep doing since I was on tumblr). To be honest, I don't know who made that illustration. And the title was invented by me!. I'll try to find out something more about it. Regards from Argentina!

Hi David, I've just read the first few pages of Bonjour Amigos on Amazon. It's excellent writing: beautifully crafted and intriguing! Why on earth isn't the book getting more attention?

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
David Gustafson Being a history "nerd," I am a big fan of the astounding cast of characters, culture and decadence of Berlin during the 1920's and 30's.

Looking at contemporary America, I see neither the astounding cast of characters nor the stunning culture of literature, theater, poetry, cinema or music that came of out the Weimar Republic. Instead, I see an unread, boobtube culture best expressed by the banality of its reality show heros.

What better character to poke fun at contemporary American decadence than a flamboyant, ladyboy poker player who ends up with her own, ratings-busting reality show?
