What makes a story go from being good to great in your opinion?

Jacqueline E. Smith For me, the difference between a good story and a great story is how I experience it. A good book gives me something to enjoy while going about my daily life. A great book pulls me in and makes its life my own. I remember the first time I read The Hunger Games. I spent two days in Panem, in the Revolution, fighting alongside Katniss. Good stories entertain. Great stories transport.
