Susan Mallery Not at all, Lisa. I don't think the idea of being a writer was even in my head until I saw a flyer advertising an evening course titled How to Write a Romance Novel. It just didn't seem like something that someone like me could do. I was too normal, too regular. I thought writers were depressed, exotic people who lived in France and wore black turtlenecks. I was just a California girl with a good sense of humor.
