What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Lewis M. Weinstein There are many things, but I think the best is the intellectual challenge of trying to write something important in a way that readers will want to read. There are many ways to do this, but each of them (for me at least) requires assembling a rather complex puzzle of ingredients and then eliminating those pieces which are not essential.
