Yes, it's one of my favourite books of all time. I gave Michael Holden his name because 'Michael' felt like him (slightly classic yet rather uncommon) and 'Holden' because I had to get a Catcher reference in there somewhere - it was one of Solitaire's biggest inspirations.

What kept you motivated to write while you were in high school and writing your first novel? What advice would you, as a young author, give to someone who is good at writing, but doesn't have that much motivation to keep writing a big story and then turn it into a book one day? In your opinion, what is more important for the story: the plot or the characters and their journey through the book?
