I just finished the Small Change trilogy in three days; it was brilliant! One tiny thing bothered me: did you ever tell us what happened to Viola? The fates of other characters from Ha'Penny were mentioned in Half a Crown. I can guess what likely happened to Viola, but did you leave her fate unclear on purpose (or did I miss it by devouring the books so quickly, which is definitely possible)?

I believe I didn't mention it -- beyond that she was put in a mental hospital because they don't hang people like her, which is at the beginning of Ha'Penny.
What happened to her long term is complex. I started writing a short story about what happened to Viola when I was in Stratford in the summer, and then I was interrupted and then I forgot about it. I should get back to that, thank you for reminding me.
There is one short story in that world, though it's set in the US and doesn't have any of the characters. It's called "Escape to Other Worlds With Science Fiction" and it's on Tor.com

Hi, I had a lot of questions about "The Just City" after I finished reading it. I thought it was really clever how you sculpted the utopia to fit the theme of justice. I was just wondering about your opinion of Plato's republic and whether or not you would classify the Just City as a utopia or a different category? Do you agree with Sokrates or Pallas Athene?
