(view spoiler)[Just discovered the Kingfall series, and am loving it so far (about 61% through book 1)
I did have a question regarding Sir Metz? Would I be wrong that my impression that he might be on the autism spectrum? I am getting that sort of vibe, but it clashes with the fact that most people on the spectrum would not do well in the chaos of battle?
Either way I am glad I discovered you as an author! (hide spoiler)]

Hi Arthur, great to hear from you! I appreciate your support and I'm so glad that you're enjoying Kingfall. You are correct. Sir Metz's character is inspired by my friends and family members who are on the spectrum. While it is true that many on the spectrum may not do well in the chaos of battle, Sir Metz's ability to focus on the precision of each small movement allows him to perform at an extremely high level.
Thanks for stopping by to ask your question! I hope you enjoy Kingfall's predecessor series, Fatemarked, as well as my brand new follow up series, Forsworn, as well. There is a lot more of the world to explore!
Happy New Year,
David

You may not remember, but years ago you looked over some of my writing for me and gave me great advice. The novel was call Shadow Wings then, it's about a shapeshifting Inupiaq bush pilot (I changed the title to Shadow Winged). Anyway, after way too many years, I finally indy published it on Kindle, and I wanted to just let you know how much that little bit of advice helped me. Thanks for being a good guy! ?

I'm takin my time through Forsworn because I want to catch all the references. However, in chapter 14, the door on the wall of Welbernius' tavern is killing me! I know it is a direct call back to something but I can't place it. Was it in "Nightfall" that Commander Helm and his crew visit a similar tavern?
