How do you structure your days? X number of hours writing, or something a little more fluid? And do you write your books concurrently or consecutively?

Hi, Carole -- thanks for your interest in how I structure my writing days. Mornings are my creative time and I'm fairly disciplined when it comes to my schedule. I'm usually at the computer by 6:30 or 6:45am. I work until noon with a break at some point for an hour of Pilates or weight training. Afternoons are best spent doing research, editing and figuring out what to cook for dinner. Also, I'm a big believer in always making time for a little retail therapy.

I've been a big fan of all three of your worlds for years! (I also want a pet dust bunny, thank you very much.) I am fascinated with how your books and worlds interconnect. Is this something you planned from the beginning, or did it just evolve? As you were writing the Arcane Society books, did you know how the stories would come together from the beginning?

On my Ask the Author page I was asked to answer the question, “What is the most romantic line you have ever read?” My response was a line out of your book, The Desperate Game. “He was the ugliest man in the bar, and he had his eye on her.” This line was so clever and witty, it drew me right in. Did this line inspire the whole story?
