Diana asked Jayne Ann Krentz:

I've been a big fan of all three of your worlds for years! (I also want a pet dust bunny, thank you very much.) I am fascinated with how your books and worlds interconnect. Is this something you planned from the beginning, or did it just evolve? As you were writing the Arcane Society books, did you know how the stories would come together from the beginning?

Jayne Ann Krentz Thanks for the question, Diana The answer is that when I fired up the Arcane Society series in my historical world (SECOND SIGHT, written under my Amanda Quick pen name) I did not plan for the Society to connect with my contemporary or futuristic worlds. It just sort of happened. And it was fun. But unfortunately, I can only focus on one world -- one story -- at a time. When I'm working on a book I'm consumed by it. Can't leave it alone until it is FINISHED -- and I get closure. However, my inability to plot two and three books ahead meant that as I moved from one book to the next I had to live with whatever twists and turns I had created in the previous time period. So, yeah, it got complicated.
