Do you have any trouble changing gears when you're writing as Jayne Castle or Amanda Quick? Is there anything you do differently (music you listen to, etc.) depending on which hat you're wearing?

Jean, thanks for the question. The answer is, no, I don't have a problem moving between my three worlds -- but I honestly don't know why I don't have a problem. All I can tell you is that I think it speaks to the importance of the fictional landscape of the novel. Historicals (which I write as Amanda Quick) automatically command a more formal tone. The futuristics (which I write as Jayne Castle) just naturally lend themselves to over-the-top-scenarios. And contemporaries demand a more modern voice. I don't know how to explain it. The shift just happens naturally. Probably the same way readers shift gears when they move between various landscapes. We (writers and readers) are all in this together.

I love your writing in all of your incarnations, but Amanda Quick is my absolute favorite. Otherwise Engaged is one of my all time favorites from your recent work, but I am curious about what the Ladies of Lantern Street. I had the impression that there would be three books, one for each of the friends from Crystal Gardens. Will that be a trilogy or is the last friend out of luck and not getting a book?
