I read the first book and i didn't enjoy it very much , also some parts (not important to the main story ) i found them hard to understand very well, should i continue or not ?

But that doesn't make The Gunslinger any less important. It kind of sets the tone for the rest of the series (hazy, dream-like, mystical) and is important. Yes, the series can get a little heavy in terms of getting through, but it has been called by King himself his "magnum opus." Do continue, it's definitely worth it. Especially because The Dark Tower movie is coming out in June, and there's talks of a TV show based on the fourth book. But back to the books: the further you go on the series, the more Stephen King goes back to his classic style (if you've read more by him). The Dark Tower is definitely one of the best series I've read by one of the best authors currently writing.(less)
