What book will the Bosch series star with?

Michael Connelly It sort of starts with three – or at least significant elements of three. We have the trial from The Concrete Blonde. We chose this because Harry gets sued and in the courtroom must testify under oath. This sequence allowed us to reveal Bosch’s background on many levels and helped solve are greatest challenge; how to reveal Bosch’s background when he is a very quiet, interior character who would never reveal himself on his own. Next we went with City of Bones because it is a case which draws significant empathy from Bosch and shows how much he cares for victims that he never even knew. The last book covered in the first season is Echo Park because it has a great villain and antagonist for Bosch. Weaving these three story lines together gives us a great first season platform for this character.
