E. Lockhart
E. Lockhart asked Lev Grossman:

I feel like both Codex and The Magicians capture something about gaming (the Magicians less overtly) that I have not really experienced since the old text adventures of the early 80s. Are you or were you a gamer? How does it inform your fiction? What do you play, now, if anything?

Lev Grossman Games have always been a big part of my life, though bigger at some times than at others. I spent a lot of my adolescence on our Atari 2600, then on our Apple IIe, and then after college Doom and Quake and Marathon sucked me back in. I love games -- they're immersive and kinesthetic and often very beautiful in ways that I try to use in my fiction.

Now I mostly play strategy games on my iPhone. My earlier hardcore self is pretty disgusted with my present casual gaming self.
