This books sounds good, but will I understand and enjoy it without reading the other books in the Argeneau series?

Terry Every book is a stand alone story. I started with "Tall, Dark and Hungry" book 4. I had no trouble reading it and it got me hooked on the series so much so that I had to go back and find the first three books. I've never missed on since then. I would say go for it and try to find all the rest of the books. You will enjoy them all.
Tabitha Okay so... this is a catch 22.

All the books are technically stand alone. You can read them out of order if you really wanted to... however it would be best to read in order. Why? Some storylines are interwoven in some ways... Rouge Hunter, Immortal Hunter, Renegade Hunter and Born to Bite are all linked partly. Where Rouge Hunter ends Immortal Hunter picks up but following a new character that just happened to be in the other book as well just a friend to the main male. In some ways following the other books I listed follow in a similar order. Vampires Are Forever and Interrupted Vampire are also linked; they follow two different character pairs but the storyline is connected. If you read Interrupted Vampire it would ruin part of the plot for Vampires are Forever.

So... I would not suggest reading this book first... It would partly ruin 3-4 different books easily. If at all possibly, maybe through amazon, I'd personally order all the books and start from the beginning. However... I've been an avid fan since 2005 and didn't have that many books to get then before I was able to just keep up by buying the next on from Walmart the day it was released or pre-ordering on Amazon like I've done for the last 3 books released. Some have been gifts too though but most I had to hunt up myself.

As for a list in chronilogical order... here you go;

A Quick Bite
Love Bites
Single White Vampire
Tall, Dark & Hungry
A Bite to Remember
Bite Me If You Can
The Accidental Vampire
Vampires Are Forever
Interrupted Vampire

Rouge Hunter
Immortal Hunter
Renegade Hunter
Bitten By Cupid (book # 12.5; side arc but part of the series)
Born to Bite
Hungry for You
The Reluctant Vampire
A Bite Before Christmas (book #15.5; side arc but part of the series)
Under a Vampire Moon
The Lady is a Vamp
Immortal Ever After
One Lucky Vampire
Vampire Most Wanted
The Immortal Who Loved Me (this one is book #21 officially)
About a Vampire (book #22; due out 9/29/2015)

Hopefully you are able to get all the series and enjoy them. You may be lucky enough to find most in a lot on Ebay for cheap... or in used book stores... however Amazon isn't horrible if you're able to order them all in one go because then free shipping, right?
Danielle no I suggest you start at the very beginning
Amyiw No, don't do it. You can read the first books a bit out of order and even read the books down the line out of order, even skipping, but not to the extent of book 21. At least not this one. This one has a lot of reappearing characters. The ones that matter are Elvi and Victor from The Accidental Vampire Book 7, also the teen that is in the first scene, Stephanie is a side character in a bunch of the books, in this one you'll want to know who she is or you'll be a little lost as she is a main side character. You can kind of get her story in the novella in Bitten by Cupid, "Vampire Valentine" or her sister's story in The Immortal Hunter. Then you need the Argeneau family of Marguerite which is explained in one of the first 4 books. So if you read 3 books or 2 books and a novella, you'll understand more or less all the other characters. This book has a lot of the previous characters. It actually is part of the appeal this time as you get to see previous characters. Also she doesn't explain vampire mates as well, or at all so you would be missing there. The other ones would explain it. No, this one isn't as much a stand alone as many of the others.

So start with one of the first 4 books which are Marguerite's children, then go to The Accidental Vampire, then the novella or The Immortal Hunter and you would know what you need.
Enzo You might want to read 1 and 2 which give you the basis of the Argeneau clan. But once those two books are completed jumping around in the series should be no problem. They are mostly stand-alone.
Jo I started here and had not trouble keeping up.
Michaela Davenport The way she writes you'll totally understand what's going on without reading the other books. She explains everything in each book. The only things you're missing out on by not reading the others is the other character's stories which aren't necessarily relative to this book's plot.
Sebastian I also would suggest to start at the beginning
But I think you could understand it if read as a stand alone thought you will miss a lot of background since most of the appearing (side) characters probably have their own book.
This is all based on the experience with previous books since this one has yet to be released.
