How do you get inspired to write?

Chasity Nicole Most of the time it just hits. Here lately it's been when I'm heading to work thinking about adding new characters to my Valhaven Island Trilogy. I've worked through a lot of characters being added just driving and listening to the radio. Though I'm not able to write it down, I remember it when I get to work and jot down notes right then and there.

I also listen to music when I'm trying to get in the mood to write, sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't.
