What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating 'Behind The Tears'?

In my story, I mentioned two prisoners escaping while being treated in a public hospital. After I wrote it, I Googled to see if anything like that had happened before, and found out it had and in the same city my book is set. The prisoner had climbed up into the ventilation system. But unlike my characters, he was caught relatively quick. Sometimes it's ironic how close fiction can be to reality.
