I'm from Sweden and I started to read a lot of books in English while being at the University. I started to read books by you in 2010 I think. I really love how realistic/true to the time period they are. When did you become interested in history? :)

Eloisa James Hi there! I'm so happy you've been reading my books so long. I did an English degree and thought that's what really interested me, but then I went off to Oxford for an M.Phil in Renaissance lit. That degree was very focused on history, and I became fascinated. Then came back to the US for my PhD and continued studying history (I did a Renaissance Studies degree, that combined history-literature-music and more). Over the years, my books' fidelity to the historical period has fluctuated, but I hope that base-line the historical fact is real enough (or I note in the back when I deviate).
