How do you come up with the names of your characters? Do you name them after people in your life, or are they totally random?

It depends. There's usually one name in each book that is an "inside joke." It's either the name of a real pet or someone's nickname or something. No human character is named after any real humans that I know. But I try to find names that are meaningful or fitting to that particular story. If you're looking for the inside jokes, by the way, they are on my website. If you look at the info about each book, there's an inside joke option.
