To whomever watched the tv series and read the book: Is the first season the whole book or is it just part of it? I really liked the show and I want to read the book too. Is it similar or not? (Please, keep it spoiler free)

The first season is a VERY loose adaptation of the book. The show covers the events of the entire book, but some of the stories are changed.
